The beach season has just begun, but there’s already talk about how the sixth annual “Taste of the Beach” is going to be the best one yet! Andrew Zimmern, host of the Travel Channel’s hit show “Bizarre Foods” will be on hand at this year’s Festival – which takes place Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 14 & 15.

Andrew Zimmern has international recognition as a top chef, food journalist, and TV host. His current popular hit show “Bizarre Foods America” travels the country exploring the weird and wonderful foods influenced by the many different cultures in the United States. Zimmern is also contributing editor at Food & Wine Magazine, an award-winning monthly columnist at Minneapolis-St. Paul Magazine and a senior editor at Delta Sky Magazine.

“Adding a big name celebrity like Andrew Zimmern is what we needed to make a really good festival, a great festival” says Shelley Johnson, festival organizer. “Since Zimmern has such a national following, especially with many of our local chefs, our participating restaurants are really looking forward to being a part of this year’s festival.” In addition to the local restaurants being excited, many other area businesses are looking at opportunities to sponsor events on the beach this year. For the first time, Taste of the Beach has a number of great sponsorship opportunities available for area business to get involved with this awesome event.

“Taste of the Beach” is an annual free festival sponsored by the Pensacola Beach Chamber of Commerce. On Saturday, Andrew Zimmern will be hosting a cooking demonstration, signing autographs and judging a dessert contest.
