Mo Sistas Supporting Mo Bros
Movember is the official month-long fundraising and awareness campaign where male participants, known as Mo Bros, start the month of November with a clean-shaven face, then grow a moustache throughout the month. This moustache is designed to spark conversations about men’s health issues. Women, or Mo Sistas — also play an important role in the movement, from registering a team of Mo-supporters to raising awareness and funds for the cause.
Movember Citrus County was initiated in 2011 by M&B dairy farmer of the year, Dale McClellan who became passionate about the Movember cause—shared it with the now lead Mo Sista Dorothy Pernu of Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center. Together with other passionate partners in Citrus County has grown the Mo Community and has raised over $1,500 – bringing needed awareness to fund men’s health; specifically, prostate and testicular cancer initiatives. All through the power of the Mo Sistas.
