The 14th Annual Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Real Estate BBQ will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the authentic, antique-laden working barn of Wanda and Leland Young in Alturas, FL.
Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Real Estate (CBCSRE), a recognized Florida land real estate brokerage firm located in Lakeland, Florida, and its sister commercial property brokerage, Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Ralston Dantzler Realty (CBCSRD), host the event each year to bring clients and community together.
Fittingly, each year, the Saunders family commissions a Florida fine artist to paint a selected theme of Florida land and Florida agriculture. “Florida land has been my only business for over 30 years including buying, selling, and conservation work,” states 8th-generation Floridian Dean Saunders, founder and broker of CBCSRE. “Our state is growing and changing quickly and I want to capture the natural landscapes that I knew as a boy.”
The Saunders Collection started in 2004 with the first series theme, “Natural Lands of Florida.” This first series portrays scenes of untouched Florida natural lands and “Old Florida,” created by well-known Florida wildlife artist Thomas Brooks. To see the collection to date, visit Saunders Collection. Saunders provides a signed and numbered print of each year’s commissioned piece to guests of the annual BBQ.
Fundraiser for Matt Caldwell
This year there is also a special fundraising event for Matt Caldwell, Republican Nominee for Florida Commissioner of Agriculture. Matt will be there to speak and meet with guests at 5:00 pm for an hour before the BBQ begins at 6:00 pm. Hosts include current Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam. To RSVP to the fundraiser, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 850-879-2641. Attendees are welcome to stay for the BBQ and should also RSVP to the BBQ.
The Barn that Leland Young Built
“I work every day, and I enjoy it. We didn’t go to the beach or the mountains. My bed’s better than any in a hotel,” the Alturas citrus grower said.
Young has built a large family citrus business, Peace Valley Enterprises, by tending his own groves and those of many others in South Polk County.
But he is almost more famous for his barn, which becomes a dance floor and entertainment venue when the antique cars and generators are moved out and tools on the walls are covered. Charities and politicians from both parties have used it, and he said he’s never charged them a cent. To read more, visit: The Ledger
